The California Building Standards Code is a set of requirements that must be met for the construction of any home or building in the state. Basically it is the minimum quality of construction that is required under state law. The key word here is “minimum.” Some builders take these minimum requirements literally, and build homes of the lowest quality that will pass inspection. Castle & Cooke is not that kind of builder.
At Castle & Cooke our reputation has been built by using construction techniques and materials that are efficient, thoughtful and of superior quality. With the help of our consultants and trade partners Castle & Cooke puts more quality in our homes by using materials that make a difference.
Carpet and Pad
We install a “textured” base carpet, which shows less wear than the typical “Saxony” carpet. Our carpet is also made of 100% recycled content, and features Scotchgard™ Protector Advanced Repel Technology that treats the entire carpet, from the tips of the fiber all the way to the carpet backing. Carpets treated with Scotchgard™ Protector Advanced Repel Technology are more resistant to staining and soiling and are easier to clean.
And speaking of carpet backing, we install 6 lb., half-inch carpet padding as a standard feature. Other builders often install the minimum requirement of 3/8-inch, 5 lb. pad. This may seem insignificant, but it’s a difference you can feel and it makes a difference in the life of your carpet.
